A Real Balloon Boy, 9, Sets A Solo Record
Bobby Bradley reached a new height after becoming the youngest person to fly solo in a balloon. The 9-year-old took off at dawn in Tome, N.M., near Albuquerque.
“It was awesome. It was amazing. I loved it,” Bobby told the Associated Press.
He was joined by three other balloons in his brief flight as family, friends and a crowd of 50 supporters cheered him on from the groun. Bobby landed safely after about 26 minutes in the air. (via ABC News)

It’s all too much
UPDATE: Who Was That Little Bridesmaid?
A little bridesmaid at the Royal Wedding was covering her ears and looking less than pleased. The noise of a half a million or so people outside cheering, and World War II-era fighters flying overhead, seems to have been a little too much for her.
So who is the little dear?

Letter Of Note of the Day: Upon learning that Andrew Scott, director of the National Railway Museum in York, was due to retire, 6-year-old Sam Pointon offered himself up as the perfect successor. “I have an electrick [sic] train track,” he wrote in his application.
While the museum thought Sam was tad too young to take the lead, they did appoint him Director of Fun. “I love it. It is good fun,” Sam said shortly after starting his new job. “My favourite is the steam engine, I like it when the wheels go round.”

We all gotta take one (or two).
I took these at the fountain near the Columbia Heights Metro station in Washington, DC. This little girl was so stoked.
