Boom, Ba-boom Interesting fact: There were TWO bass tracks (double bass and electric) on “Walk on the Wild Side.” From Wikipedia: “The song is also noted for its twin interlocking bass lines played by Herbie Flowers on double bass and overdubbed fretless bass guitar. In an interview on BBC Radio 4 (“Playing Second Fiddle”, aired July 2005), Flowers claimed that the reason he came up with the twin bass line was that, as a session musician he would be paid double for playing two instruments on the same track.”

A Whole New Meaning to Walk on the Wild Side You’ve probably all had jaw-dropping moments while browsing the web, moments when your passion and someone’s sense of humor collide into hysterical genius. And so it was when I stumbled upon The Kitten Covers, the Tumblr site of artist Alfra Martini. You see, Alfra and I share a passion for album art. We’re not unique there, but with a keen eye and a warped sense of humor, she takes classic album art and replaces the iconic cover stars with kittens. (All Songs Considered : NPR)
